1. Pre-press: Set the
temperature to 275F/135C or Synthetic option on household iron. Place
a sheet of parchment paper, Teflon Sheet or a T-shirt over the jersey
and iron the target area for 3 to 5 seconds. This removes wrinkles and hidden
moisture.
2. The First Press: Place
the patch where you want it, put a Teflon Sheet or a T-shirt over it, press
down with light weight for 8 seconds, do not glide the iron like regular
ironing. Hold it completely still over the patch for 5 seconds.
3. Cool & Peel:
Polyamide powder on polyester adheres best with a cold peel. Let the patch cool
completely to room temperature (about 1–2 minutes) before slowly peeling the
plastic carrier sheet away at a flat angle. If the patch starts to lift, STOP,
lay it back down, and press for another 5 seconds.
4. The Second Press (Crucial):
Once the transfer plastic has been removed, place the parchment paper, teflon
sheet or a t-shirt back over the newly exposed patch and press it one final
time with the iron for 5 seconds. This locks the edges into the fabric
fibers so it won't peel in the wash.
Follow these instructions for washing and drying:
1. Hand Wash Only (The Golden
Rule) 👐 Because your new patches are
heat-pressed, rubberized logos they are much more delicate than standard fan
stitched crests. Machine washing—even on delicate—can damage these details over
time. Always wash by hand!
2. Prep & Submerge
🫧 Turn the jersey inside out to protect
the outer logos. Fill a clean sink or basin with cold water and a small amount
of mild liquid detergent. (Never use hot water, as it melts the adhesive
holding the patches!)
3. Gently Wash: Submerge
the jersey and gently massage the fabric. Avoid scrubbing aggressively,
twisting, or wringing out the jersey, especially over the sponsor logos, names,
and numbers.
4. Skip the Fabric Softener
& Bleach 🚫 Only use mild
detergent. Never use fabric softeners—they leave a waxy coating that completely
destroys the moisture-wicking technology in the athletic fabric and can peel
the decals.
5. AIR DRY ONLY (Never use the
dryer!) 🔥 This is the most crucial step. Once
rinsed with clean cold water, gently press the water out (do not twist/wring).
Do not put your jersey in the tumble dryer, even on low heat. Simply hang it on
a plastic hanger or lay it flat on a drying rack, direct sunlight can fade the
jersey colors and degrade the patch material.
