The Matsushita 12AU7 (ECC82) is a vintage dual-triode vacuum tube manufactured in Japan from the 1960s onward. Built using tooling, engineering, and factory assistance originally provided by Mullard (part of the Philips empire), these tubes are widely regarded as high-quality, budget-friendly alternatives to scarce British and American valves. Distinctive angled/slanting halo “O” getters.

The standard minimum recommended value for a tube on a TV-7 tester is 60%-65%. As in TV-7 minimum values represent 60%-65% of new tube’s specifications. Please note all testers can give different values and therefore I will not enter a debate over provided results even though my tester was calibrated and tested against Dan Nelson’s reference tubes for accuracy. Its purpose is purely for your informed decision.
