This well-modelled animal study shows a sea lion sitting upright with its head raised and flippers tucked beneath the body. Finished in soft grey and white tones, it carries a Lomonosov USSR factory mark to the underside.

Made by the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory during the Soviet period, this porcelain sea lion is finished in a glossy glaze with softly blended grey and white colouring. The simple sculptural style and natural pose are typical of the factory's well-known animal studies, and the original USSR factory mark remains on the base. It presents well and displays plenty of character. Clean example.
