Charming mid-century Santa Claus figure riding in a wooden sled, likely made in Germany in the 1950s–60s. Santa has a painted papier-mâché head with rosy cheeks and a cheerful red nose, cotton beard, and a red crepe-paper hat with white trim. He sits in a hand-crafted pine sled with curved runners and slatted sides, clutching a small bottle-brush Christmas tree and black chenille “mittens.” Measures approximately 8.5” long, 2” wide, and 3.5” tall. In good vintage condition with light wear from age. Some staining/glue marks to the back of the head, minor wrinkling to the crepe-paper hat, and small nicks and a missing crossbar to the wood sled—all consistent with age and use. A delightful piece of vintage holiday décor for mantels, hutches, or putz village displays.
