Item Description:

Up for sale is a beautiful vintage/antique Gothic Revival wooden travel triptych shrine. This pocket-sized piece features two-leaf doors with intricate openwork fretwork that fold closed over a central panel.

The central artwork houses a vibrantly preserved, textured vintage color print depicting a detailed medieval-style illumination of the Nativity scene (the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and infant Jesus). The top of the frame is decorated with striking Gothic openwork tracery and capped with a central cross finial.

Customizable Design:

The reverse side of the shrine features three small flush-mounted screws. By unscrewing these, the rear panel can be opened, allowing the buyer to easily slide out the current print and replace it with their own personal icon, prayer card, saint image, or family photograph if desired.

Condition Notes:

Overall good vintage condition with a rich, dark patina to the timber. The hinges are secure, and the doors fold smoothly. Please note: There appears to be a small applied element missing from the top cross finial (see close-up photo).
