Antique Sterling Silver traditional Styled Hip Flask / Spirit Flask from the early 20th Century, this piece boasting strong Art Deco Overtones including an engine turned pattern finish to the body which has a pleasing curved shape so as to sit in the pocket more comfortably, featuring a patent Bayonet twist and lock latch arm mounted screw cap lid which retains original cork butting the front of the flask is detailed to the shoulder with a circular cartouche engraved with the namesake "Sandy", in good used condition the flask only having a small bruise to the reverse at the bottom corner it measures 9 cm x 6.7 cm x 1.8 cm in dimension and is impressed with good clear markings indicating Birmingham assay office circa 1925 with the makers mark for S P Ora & Co, (contemporaries to Dunhill, Ora & Co were Cigarette manufacturers during the period of Market Hill, Cambridge, oras mark also exists to the swung arm of hte lid advertising their Cambridge & Oxford works.
A handsome piece, still perfectly useable, just needs a gentle clean and polish to shine again.
