CASSETTE GRADING SYSTEM (Please Note: All grades are based on visual inspection only):

NEAR MINT (NM): Cassette will be close to mint but not perfect. It may show very light signs of use and handling. Paper labels may have slight rippling. Inlays will be close to mint. They may have very light signs of handling. There may be very light surface wear and slight wear at the folds. Cases will be near perfect with no more than very light marks. NM is a high grading given to items that are in pristine condition but not mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): Cassette will be above average. It may have some light but visible scratching or other signs of use. Text may be slightly rubbed. Paper labels may have some rippling/lifting but overall the tape should present in a clean condition. Inlays may have light signs of handling, slight creasing and some wear at the folds but should be overall in above average condition. Cases may have light marks but should be overall in very clean condition. EX is an above average grading.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+): Cassette will be in overall good condition for its age. It may have signs of use and handling. Text may be slightly rubbed. Paper labels may have significant rippling and some lifting. The cassette should present in attractive but used condition. Inlays will have some surface and edge wear and general signs of age and handling. There may be some creasing but overall the inlay should be in good average condition for its age. There may be some very light marks or discolouration. Cases will have light shelf wear and scratching commensurate with age. VG+ is an average or slightly better grading.

VERY GOOD (VG): Cassette should be in acceptable overall condition though with clear signs of age and use. There will be scratches, rubbing, finger marks, rippling to labels and signs of fairly heavy use. Inlays will show signs of age, wear, creasing and handling. There may be some light marks or staining. Cases will have medium wear and scratches but no cracks. VG is an average or slightly below average grading but the item will still be in good useable condition.

GOOD PLUS (G+): Cassettes will have signs of heavy use and cosmetic flaws but still be in acceptable and useable condition. There may be rubbed text, worn and rippled paper labels. Tape shell may be soiled or marked. Inlays may be creased, soiled, worn at the edges and surface etc but will be in tact. There may be some foxing or staining or light water marks. Cases will have fairly heavy wear and scratching but should not be cracked. G+ is a below average rating.

GOOD (G): Cassettes will be in fairly poor cosmetic condition with signs of heavy use and may be soiled, rubbed, heavily scratched and have damage to paper labels. Inlays may be creased, soiled, marked and have heavy surface wear etc. There may be quite heavy foxing, staining or other marks. Cases will be in very worn but useable condition. They may have small cracks. G is a fairly poor grading well below average though the item should still be in useable condition.

FAIR (F): Cassettes will be in poor condition with some damage, serious cracks, torn labels etc. or with some other serious cosmetic defect. Inlays will be badly soiled, badly creased, possibly torn, heavily stained or marked with heavy wear that spoils their appearance. Cases will have major defects including cracks, broken hinges and very deep scratches. F is a very poor grading reserved for items that have a major flaw or defect.
