TOMIX JR East 485-3000 Series Hakucho Ltd Express 8-Car Set N Gauge

The 485 series 3000 subset is a limited express train that first appeared in 1996, primarily through a renewal modification of the 485 series 1000 subset.

The 485 series trains assigned to the Aomori Vehicle Center included 6-car sets for the "Hakucho" service and 4-car sets for the "Tsugaru" service (from 2010 onward). Additionally, intermediate car units for strengthening formations were assigned, and during peak seasons and weekends, formations were expanded to 8-car sets in active service.

Around 2004, the underfloors and bogies were changed to gray, and in 2010, the orientation of the formations was reversed to unify passenger amenities within the trainsets with the 789 series.

They supported transportation on the Tsugaru Kaikyo Line until the discontinuation of the "Hakucho" service with the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen in March 2016, upon which they were retired.
