This Auction Includes:
LOT OF 1 VINTAGE COMIC BOOK: SPELLBOUND #11 CGC 5.0 With Cream To Off-White Pages, From Late 1952. The "Empty Coffin" Cover Is By Sol Brodsky And Features A Shapely Redhead And A Hideous Zombie Welcoming Her To The Open Coffin. This Glossy Example Looks Amazing And Will Be A Noteworthy Acquisition For The Discriminating Collector Or Golden-Age Comics Investor. In The Early Fifties Timely/Atlas Comics (Which Later Became Top Publisher Marvel) Decided To Jump Into The Burgeoning Supernatural Market, And This Particular Title Contained Rather-Consistently Salacious Horror Covers, While Most Of The Other Atlas Titles Frequently Mixed In Rather Bland Mystery & Fantasy Oriented Covers. This Historic Comic Book Is Crucial To Any Pre-Code Collector And Is Scarce In Decent Shape So Don't Miss This Chance To Score An Authentic Unrestored Attractive Example Or You May End Up Settling For An Embarrassing Photocopy Replica. The Pre-Code Horror Craze Was In Full Swing So It's Got The Ubiquitous Lurid Content Including Gore And Cheesecake And Extreme Violence And Good Girl Art And Other Classic Elements Of The Gritty Fifties Comics.

The Horror And Good-Girl And Supernatural Themes Never Go Out Of Style!

This hails from a dark, dry, smoke-free, climate-controlled environment. See the various pictures, although the glare and reflections give it a washed-out appearance while it looks bold and striking in person; This well-preserved example retains a substantial amount of luster and the eye appeal is very impressive for the seemingly-modest grade.

This scarce collectible will be carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery.
