WHEEL COVER RATING CONDITION: Grade A levels= Excellent (A), Near Excellent (A/A-), Very Good Condition (A-), Pretty Good (A--). Grade B levels (Driver Grade Level) = Pretty Good "Driver" Condition (B++), Good /OK "Driver" Condition (B+) / Average condition/fair condition (B). Poor (C, C+). All "B" & "C" Grades will have more visible damage than any "A" Grade (See other listings for those). Ratings are based on the visual appeal of the wheel cover as well as the physical condition of the metal...but not paint (if applicable). The highlighted BLUE section (above) shows the wheel cover grade for this listing.
ORIGINAL YEAR OF USE: 1977-1978 Eldorado (Fits 1977-78 Eldorado FWD 15" steel rims).
ITEM CONDITION: This listing is for ONE hard to find Saffron Orange/Red Eldorado Wheel Cover in Grade "A/A-" condition, per the ranking scale listed above. This quality range is considered "NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION"....the "well above average" level that is highly presentable while having minimal minor wear & tear present.
Here are the details: This is the Eldorado Biarritz version of the factory wheel covers - unique because it has a body-matching painted section in the Center Face. I believe this is the 1977 "Saffron" color, which is a deep burnt Orange / Red metallic paint. The Outer Perimeter Rim is in Near Excellent Condition, no deep dents, scrapes/rashing, etc. The Spokes are superb - none bent, twisted, slanted or missing. The Outer Crown Edge (of the Center Face) is Very Good+ Condition, it has a wonderful shine that is absent of dents and massive amounts of stone nick damage, etc. It does have a thin faint rash line in the vertical region below the emblems, barely visible. The Center Face (under the Saffron area) is perfectly flat, no dents. The actual Saffron Decal is pretty amazing for being 50 years old - The color is extremely strong and even. Very Good shine (glossy) to the clear lens of the painted decal, not cracked. No thin spots in the painted area. Painted decal adhesion is very good, without any "edge lift" present. There is a slight bubbling spot at the top right, and a waterline mark below the Crest. The body metal is incredibly clean and shiny, speculating this was a very low mileage used wheel cover in it's day.
The Cadillac Crest has been color restored, so that it looks bold and beautiful. The Cadillac Chrome Wreath carries a strong shine and is not pitted. All of the Retaining Tabs / Teeth are present on the Back Side and have been neutral adjusted. The wheel cover fits securely on an Eldorado Rim. This sharp SAFFRON wheel cover is a rare find for your Biarritz - it's ready to install. Your Eldorado will love it~! This item is shipped with Full Insurance Coverage.

The wheel cover was test mounted on an Eldorado rim and fit decently. All of my wheel covers have been professionally cleaned to remove tar, oils, road grime, brake dust, etc..... A dirty and stinky wheel cover will NOT be coming your way! Mounting tabs are also neutral adjusted as well.
Keep your expectations realistic, this is a 50+year old wheel cover with lower than average use characteristics.
** The 1967-78 Eldorado wheel covers are unique in the car world.....they are designed to fit over the wheel rim that has a huge offset due to the front wheel drive design. Therefore NO other front or rear wheel drive hubcaps will ever work on the Eldo...just the original factory ones.**
NOTE: This is an old-school wheel cover! You may have to bend some of the retaining tabs to get it to fit perfect on your steel wheels....especially if you have balancing weights. This wheel cover will fit any 1971-78 Eldorado with the stock factory 15" steel rims. Cadillac never offered anything else but that rim back in the day.
