The Day They Gave Babies Away by Dale Eunson is a heartwarming, true-story-based book about a 12-year-old boy, Robbie Eunson, who, after his parents' death in 1868, finds new homes for his five younger siblings on Christmas Day, fulfilling his dying mother's wish. The book, originally published in 1947, is a memoir about the author's father and his siblings, focusing on the poignant story of family love and sacrifice. It was later adapted into the film All Mine to Give. 

A true story from the author's family history.  After his mother dies on Christmas Eve, 1868, 12-year-old Robbie takes on the responsibility of finding suitable families for his younger brothers and sisters, ensuring they are placed in loving homes.
