This lot is for a near complete set of ORIGINAL 9 pochoir colored plates that was from the rare book titled “LE PUITS DE JACOB” that was published in 1927 in Paris, France and illustrated by Arthur Szyk.

This was one of the very early works that the illustrations by Szyk were found in a book format. The complete book contained 12 colored plates – 9 of which are part of this lot. Each full-page measures about 6”x8”, with the actual art image measuring about 
2 1/2” x 3 1/2". Each plate is in excellent condition with no folds or tears.

In addition to the 9 colored plates, this also has the illuminated initials, i.e. 
squares of 15 Capital Letters (which began a page print text from the same book). Each initial letter measures about 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".

This issue had a limited production run of only 327 copies. These individual plates can be stored in a ringed binder for easy access and viewing.

Each of the plates still have a vibrant and bight colors, even after nearly 100 years.
