Novelty Tea Infuser - Silver-tone Metal

This whimsical tea infuser features a perforated silver-tone metal basket shaped like a fish, designed to hold loose leaf tea. The infuser is connected by a fine metal link chain to a molded white cat counterweight. This functional design allows the cat charm to rest on the cup rim or hang on the exterior, securing the infuser during the steeping process. It represents the popular category of animal-themed kitchen accessories from the turn of the millennium.

Condition: Good vintage condition. The metal infuser shows light surface patina and minor oxidation consistent with use; the interior remains clean. The cat counterweight shows a few small dark scuff marks on the reverse and sides, but the painted features remain crisp. The hinge and clasp are fully functional and secure.
