late-Victorian American publishing: The Gospel
Story in Easy Words for Children by Mrs. Helen W. Pierson. Published by
the legendary McLoughlin
Brothers, this book is a prime example of their famous chromolithograph
cover illustrations, featuring a beautiful depiction of the Flight into Egypt
on the front cover.
Condition:
Acceptable / Fair. An authentic late-19th-century children's book with expected
age wear. The front cover art remains vibrant with some scuffing and corner
wear. The inner hinge is split/cracked, revealing the binding mesh underneath,
but the pages remain attached. Pages show heavy browning/toning due to age but
are completely readable. Please see all photos for a detailed look at the
condition.

illustrated paper over boards shows standard shelf wear, edge rubbing, and
rounding.

cloth spine is intact with faded gold gilt lettering.
