Beautiful Antique Austro-Hungarian 800 Silver 5-Strand Kropfkette Choker


Up for sale is a beautiful antique Central European traditional Kropfkette choker necklace. This style was historically crafted in the late 19th century to be worn high on the throat alongside regional festive costume attire (Dirndl dress). It features an elegant, multi-layered drape.


Design Details: 5 matching rows of solid silver rolo/anchor link chains. Please see last photo as a couple of links have been replaced

Clasp: Features a grand, decorative push-clasp decorated with intricate gold-toned cannetille filigree scrollwork.

Accents: Centered with a dark red gemstone (likely a deep garnet or paste stone) and flanked by two small seed pearls.

Hallmarks & Authenticity: The reverse edge of the push-clasp is clearly stamped with two official, small-article Austro-Hungarian Empire assay marks. The punches feature the historical "Dog's Head" profile. This definitively guarantees solid 800-grade continental silver dating between 1872 and 1922 (circa 1890).
