Antique/Vintage Japanese Haniwa bronze sculpture on mounted board. It's in excellent condition for its age. Some wear on the frame.

Authentic, ancient Haniwa are unglazed terracotta clay figures placed on burial mounds during Japan's Kofun period (ca. 250–538 AD). While no ancient haniwa are made of bronze, collectors can find 20th-century decorative bronze Haniwa sculptures and statues. These modern castings replicate the famous geometric, hollow-eyed designs of the clay originals. Capturing the great artistic talent and fine craftmanship only a skilled artist can create.
