600mm x 400mm x 200mm, approximate. Sizes are usually slightly bigger. Edges are rough cut and surfaces are often very slightly marked as this material is often the cut off of large poly jobs.

What is MDF Grade Polystyrene?

MDF-grade Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) refers to a specific density of lightweight foam, typically around 15 kg/m³, designed for carving, modelling, and applications needing moderate insulation, offering good insulation value for its low weight, often fire-retardant, and used in construction for walls, roofs, and floors where cost-effectiveness and ease of handling are priorities.

Key Characteristics:

Density: Around 15 kg/m³ (often labelled EPS70), making it light yet strong enough for shaping.

Composition: Made from polystyrene beads expanded with steam, creating a closed-cell structure that's about 98% trapped air, providing insulation.

Properties: Lightweight, moisture-resistant, rot-proof, unaffected by mold/fungi, and often treated with fire retardants.

Uses: Ideal for creating models, decorative shapes, thermal insulation in buildings (walls, roofs, floors), and DIY projects due to its ease of cutting and installation.
