This is an account of the campaigns in Sudan 1896-98 leading to the re-establishment of Anglo-Egyptian Government. The early moves were largely undertaken by Egyptian and Sudanese troops mainly under European command although the 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment was present. A contingent from the Indian Army was at Suakin on the Red Sea coast. The 1898 campaign  involved significant participation of British troops, and the major battles of Atbara and Omdurman.  Handling wear, scuffing and soiling to original red cloth boards. Spine slightly sunned but titling legible. Some foxing, mainly page edges.
