This Hollywood quality gorgeous ensemble ( read on)  is a rare, hand-made 1950's heavy top quality satin and lace glamour hostess gown, --some called these a dressing in the old days designed for an evening or wedding occasion. This is the glamour of  lauren bacall  Katherine Hepburn ... Think Grace Kelly right... Sailing into the living room for a dinner party,, to entertain a gentleman, I think Ingrid Bergman wore one of these I'll have to watch my movies LOL or cocktails. I know this is 1950 because my mother wedding dress is made of exactly exactly the same fabric. It is a beautiful sky powder blue with lace on the sleeves. I am in New York and my mother's dress was made in New York by hand - people went to stores down on canal Street or the lower East side and dressmakers would design a dress and I have a feeling this is the same situation. It's also handmade because of the way the scissors cut inside and my mother used to sew and taught me a few things. I have dealt with vintage a long time but never came across a satin gown designed  like this.

You can wear it as a wedding dress or as a robe. if you do I want pictures!!!  I'm including an interlude powder blue nightgown (it's not an exact match but close if you want a set..sleep ensemble. Interlude as a nightgown is quite a good quality vintage as well. It's more nylon satin not the quality setting though of this dressing gown. Two separate things the interlude gown would retail for about 30 depending on where you buy it.

This is a one-of-a-kind there's nothing like it on eBay and worth every penny. The satin is heavy and soft it's really just gorgeous. You can see the sheen.

It looks like it was worn just once or twice. There are no major stains there is one teensy lighter spot you won't notice it in the folds think of singer sergeant and the paintings.

This will also be amazing for a sitting portrait please note: although you can always cut seams and make it larger this is really for a narrow  shoulder woman. It does not fit me.   I believe this is for a 28 30-30 in. I wear a 34 to 36 double d and I'm small boned but it still does not fit me. Think of it as an extra small.  Althought this is a 34 and it really is meant for someone narrow.  This vintage dress features a beautiful blue color, a maxi sweep style, and a modified size XS with a 34 chest size I can measure the length from shoulder to bottom if you like.  I'm 5 ft tall and it's way beyond that.  Made in the United States, this original evening wear dress with a shoulder to shoulder measurement of 16 inches exudes a timeless elegance and sophistication. Really it is a one-of-a-kind. I'm happy to send more photos whatever you wish.
