Up for sale is a vintage pair of matching chrome cam-style (bayonet) fuel tank caps, perfect for old-school Harley-Davidson builds, Shovelhead restorations, or custom chopper projects.
This set includes both the Right-hand Vented cap and t he Left-Hand Non-vented cap. As shown in the photos, the let cap features the authentic, slightly taller base profile designed by factory standards to prevent fuel leakage when the motorcycle rests on its kickstand.
- FITMENT ERA: Late 1973 to 1982 Harley-Davidson big Twin models (FL, FLH, FX, FXS, FXWG) running 3.5 or 5.0 gallon dual split "Fat Bob" tanks, as well as compatible Sportster and custom aftermarket chopper tanks.
- OUTER DIAMETER: Approximately 2.5 inches (the wider, later-era profile)
- UNDERSIDE STYLE: Traditional cam-lock / twist - and - lock tabs with classic cork gaskets. No manufacturer stamps visible.
- CONDITION: Good vintage, pre-owned condition. The chrome tops show a beautiful aged patina. The undersides exhibit normal, minor surface rusting on the locking bars and some light wear on the cork gaskets, typical of authentic vintage parts.
