A scarce advertising mirror for Gray's Syrup of Red Spruce Gum, an early C19th medicine marketed as a remedy for various ailments. It was part of the "Quack medicine" era when many products were sold without scientific validation.

This advertising mirror is 1 1/2" in diameter. 

Interesting to note: research indicates that this syrup was produced in the United States - however, this particular advertising mirror is marked "GERMANY" at the bottom.
