>Offered here is an old and original 1982 University of OREGON DUCKS Track and Field meet ticket stubs collection x 9!! Please see both photos, as they are an important part of my description. This is a 10-day auction. Found at a local estate here in Eugene, Oregon, this outstanding ticket horde of nine (9) covers nearly the entire year's track & field meets held at the University of Oregon at Hayward Field for the 1982 NCAA Track & Field season (I believe the only track meet that is missing was for the first meet in March, possibly the Oregon Preview meet). Also included is a 1982 Prefontaine Classic stub. <>Athletes from the U. of O. 1982 men's and women's teams included Matt Centrowitz, Rudy Chapa, David Mack, Jim Hill, Bill McChesney Jr., Leann Warren, Jody Parker, Roz Rouse and Lisa Nicholson.

      1. April 3 Oregon Ducks vs. Washington State Cougars (coed dual meet)

      2. April 10 Oregon Ducks vs. Louisiana State Tigers (dual meet)

      3. April 24 Oregon Ducks vs. Kansas Jayhawks (men) and Arizona Wildcats (women)

      4. May 1 Oregon Ducks vs. Oregon State Beavers (coed dual meet)

      5. May 15 Oregon Twilight Meet (included the Oregon Ducks men's/women's teams)

      6. May 21 Pac-10 Track & Field Championships (Day 1)

      7. May 22 Pac-10 Track & Field Championships (Day 2)

      8. June 5 Steve PREFONTAINE CLASSIC (an early 8th Annual Pre Classic)

      9. Sept. 25 Oregon International Track Meet, sponsored by the Oregon Track Club

      >All of the ticket stubs feature Nike advertising, including their then-slogan "Welcome to Nike Country".

      >>Also of note are two tickets that the original meet attendee wrote notable results on the stub backs. The Oregon vs. Louisiana State ticket mentions one of the best 10,000-meter races ever run, as it featured former U. of O. runner Alberto Salazar versus former Washington State runner Henry Rono battling it out (in a pouring rain!). Salazar stalked Rono for much of the race but was never able to pass him as Salazar lost by a step in a very fast 27:29 (again, in a pouring rain!). The other ticket with written notes is the Prefontaine Classic stub, which mentions a 5,000-meter World Record for Mary Decker Tabb.
