Five Traditional Thai Khon Miniature Masks
Hand-painted relief masks on textile support in shadow box frame
12" x 5" x 1"
Unsigned

This shadow box presentation features five miniature Khon masks, representing the traditional classical dance-drama of Thailand. Each mask is meticulously detailed, showcasing the ornate Chada headgear and character-specific color palettes associated with the Ramakien, the Thai national epic. The masks-depicted in vibrant shades of blue, red, white, green, and orange-are mounted against a textured silver-toned textile backdrop, creating a sophisticated relief effect within a gilded profile frame.

• Includes five distinct character masks with traditional architectural headgear motifs
• Hand-painted details and faux-jewel accents demonstrate artisanal craftsmanship
• Housed in a shadow box style gold-toned frame with an integrated D-ring hanger for display

Condition: Good vintage condition. The masks and textile background remain well-preserved with vibrant colors and no missing elements. The frame shows noticeable separation at the mitered corners and light surface wear consistent with age, but remains structurally sound for hanging.
