This is the story of the Royal Deccan Horse (officially the 20th Deccan Cavalry) in the First World War. The Regiment deployed to the Western Front with the Indian Corps in Autumn 1914 where it continued to serve and fight until January 1918 when ti was sent to Palestine. Here it fought until the end of the War. There ia also a section on the 29th Lancers (Deccan Horse) with which the 20th Deccan Cavalry a,algamated in 1922, which provides a brief history of that Regiment and an account of it's services on the Western Front and Palestine in WW1.
