This incredible  Garrrincha card used to be OWNED by Pelé himself.

In 2022, in what turned out to be only a few weeks before he lost his battle with cancer,  I was fortunate enough to be invited to Pelé's home in Brazil to help him sort through his vast long- held  collection of predominantly Pelé cards from all over the globe .

PSA/DNA was also on-site at Pelé's waterfront mansion to physically witness this historic sighing of Pelé's personal collection.

This was signed either in October or November 2022.

We'd thought we could get through his entire collection on the first trip.

When we weren't successful at being through everything in October, we agreed to all come back in November to finish up.

Pelé was moving MUCH slower on that second trip.

We were still unable to finish.

With about 20% of his collection still untouched, we all agreed to return in December.

But by early December, his cancer had him hospitalized again, for would turn out to be the end of the world's beloved KING!!

While I'm unsure if this was signed in October or November, it's kind of moot now.

The KING is now in his eternal resting spot

But he's left behind some amazing momentos for his awestruck fans

PELÉ mostly had Pelé cards.

He did also own a few other cards of his favorite sports stars.

Like nearly his entire collection, the cards that he owned were in exemplary condition.

You'll nearly NEVER see any card from this issue that's in PSA graded Excellent Mint condition.

The exact card that I'm offering here IS, and always will be the FINEST known example!

Amazingly, while he was effectively on his virtual death-bed PSA/DNA  assessed one of his very last autographs as being a Gem Mint 10!

PSA in grading Pelé's personal card collection, finally put his actual NAME on a card that they've graded.

ALL Pelé cards in a PSA holder have only ever been labeled as a "PELE" card.

That slight was so disrespectful to Pelé, whose name actually became a WORD in the Portuguese dictionary.

"Pele" translates to English as meaning "skin."

"PELÉ" translates into English as meaning a ma'am of respect. "

Fortunately, for his personal collection, PSA finally got his name correctly written on their labels.

Almost all of Pelé's Collection was cards that featured featured Pelé.

The only other cards that were in his collection were Brazilian teammates/friends along with a few other miscellaneous cards of other sports heroes that he'd somehow acquired during his decades of amassing his personal collection.

This truly scarce Garrrincha card is from a rather famous Brazilian producer.

A quick look at population reports will show you how impossibly rare this card truly is.

Of course; since this was Pelé's ONLY example of this Garrrincha rarity, it's FOREVER a pop 1 finest futebol ⚽️ treasure
