Here we have a facsimile thank you letter for a gift signed by Winston Churchill. Firstly, this is NOT an original Churchill signature, it is his, but not hand signed. Apparently, from 1945 onward, at least nine variations of replica notes were reproduced in vast quantities by Churchill's staff to thank well-wishers, whose congratulations poured in on Churchill’s birthday and other occasions. They were made by a “spirit duplicator,” commonly known as a Roneo machine—similar to, but producing better quality than, a mimeograph. This one is likely from the early 1950's as after Churchill returned to office in 1951 they adopted the printed 10 Downing Street letterhead. It's been taped top and bottom at some point and this has damaged the top right corner. There are also very small tears appearing at the creases and it would benefit from being stabilised and framed.
