Offered here is a rare Pelikan 101N vintage fountain pen believed to be a wartime (WWII-era) production example, distinguished by its exceptionally scarce chrome-nickel nib — a material used during wartime when gold was restricted.
The pen measures 12.3 cm capped and extends to a very practical 15.7 cm when posted, making it comfortable for extended writing despite its compact form. The nib is notably soft and flexible, offering a pleasing degree of flex. Writing performance has been confirmed: the pen fills and writes. At certain angles the nib exhibits a slight catch, but at the correct angle it writes very smoothly.
As expected of a vintage piece, the pen shows age-appropriate wear. Notably, the cap ring has some distortion/warping. Other general light scratches and marks consistent with age are present.
The nib material is chrome-nickel, which is a hallmark of Pelikan wartime production and makes this a historically significant and collectible piece for enthusiasts of vintage German writing instruments.
