1921 Morgan Silver Dollar - circulated, Grade is just an estimate as the coin is UNGRADED. Please see photos for quality of the coin.
The 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar is the final issue of the iconic series. Produced by the Philadelphia (no mint mark), Denver (D), and San Francisco (S) mints, it consists of 90% silver and 10% copper, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver. The Morgan design was retired in 1904, but it was temporarily brought back in 1921 to fulfill the Pittman Act of 1918, which required the government to replace millions of silver dollars that had been melted down and sold for bullion during World War I. Because the original master hubs from earlier years were destroyed, engraver George T. Morgan had to recreate new master dies for 1921. Consequently, 1921 Morgan dollars feature slightly flatter and subtly different design details compared to pre-1904 coins. Later in 1921, the Morgan dollar was permanently replaced by the Peace Dollar.
You can find where your coin was minted by looking at the reverse (eagle side) of the coin, right below the wreath and above the letters "DO," to check for the following:No Mint Mark: Struck at the Philadelphia Mint (most common, with tens of millions minted)."D": Struck at the Denver Mint."S": Struck at the San Francisco Mint.
