Warikomi (Japanese sword technique where steel = Hagane is sandwiched between soft iron from both sides)
This is a handmade machete made by 重保 Shigeyasu, one of Japan's leading blacksmiths in the Aizu region (Fukushima prefecture). 
He is one of the leading apprentices of a family of Japanese sword smiths until the Edo period. Since the Meiji era, he has been a blacksmith of hand tools such as axes and hatchets for farming and forest work, and chisels and planes for carpentry tools. 
Shigeyasu and other blacksmiths in his family are very valuable in this day and age. The hardware is very scarce, so don't miss this opportunity to own one.
