Fender FSR collection 2026 Made In Japan Traditional 60s Jaguar Mystic Aztec Gold MH w/Gold Anodized PG

While our previous custom order resulted in a gold model based on the Jazzmaster, this time we’re introducing a Jaguar version.

We agonized right up until the last minute over whether to go all out and make the hardware gold as well, but ultimately decided that too much gold might be overwhelming... so we opted for chrome hardware and vintage white parts.

Since the Jaguar has more metal parts than the Jazzmaster, I think the chrome hardware really helps balance out the look!

The base model is the highly popular vintage-style “Traditional 60s Jaguar,” featuring a matching headstock design with the custom color “Mystic Aztec Gold” applied to both the body and headstock top!

Furthermore, block inlays and binding on the neck add an extra touch of luxury!

The specs are designed with the late 1966 “transitional period” in mind, so it features F-key tuners.

I ordered this with the concept of “what if I lightly modified and refinished a vintage Jaguar?”

For playability and sound, I changed the frets to “Narrow Tall” and the body wood from basswood to “alder.”

Narrow Tall frets are taller, offering the advantage of allowing you to press the strings down with less force.

Depending on your playing style, we selected this as an essential feature for playing stretched chords on a short-scale Jaguar.

The combination of the midrange that alder excels at, the vintage-style single-coil pickups also found on bass models, and the anodized aluminum pickguard reduces noise and delivers a sound with excellent tonal balance.
