Order of St John Priory For Wales 

St John Ambulance belt and belt buckle 

buckle is white metal - nickel perhaps

design of buckle is based upon the Victorian Pattern for an army officers belt buckle 

early pattern design probably WWI and earlier 

Prior to WWI this pattern belt buckle was not part of the regular St John Wales uniform issue but was reserved as a presentation piece 

to reward good service and achievement within the ranks of St John in Wales 

belt buckle with some clear marks of wear - but overall good condition 

buckle marked 'W.M. Dowler & Sons Ltd Birmingham'

Belt was sometime brown and has been stained / polished black 

some stitching repairs to belt and a mark of '36' suggesting 36 inches 

belt with some cracking to leather and could do with some leather reconditioning 

overall good and scarce early pattern St John Priory for Wales buckle and belt
