Jnat ~1970s Ohira Asagi 1.29kg Lv5+ Japanese Natural Whetstone Sharpening Stone JAPAN d013

Thank you for your interest in my items.
I am selling a lot of used items from the Showa era (~1989).
Many of the mines have already been closed down and are now being molded and sold from a limited stock of raw stones.
For example, there are only a limited number of companies that store and sell rough stones from the Nakayama mine (including the Kato mine), but they are sold by companies that do not own the rough stones and use the "Nakayama" printing.
The "Nakayama Mine" (including the Kato Mine) that I sell is purchased directly from the rightful owner.
There are also vendors who sell grinding stones from China as "Sho-honyama".
Many of the used stones I sell are excellent stones that were sold during the heyday of natural grinding stones in Kyoto.
These stones were used by professional barbers, carpenters, and chefs.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you very much.

The famous place of the whetstone: It becomes a grinding stone for finishing
of Ohira Sho-Honyama
 for Kyoto.

Brand:
Ohira,
Sho-Honyama.
Tomae Asagi.
Made in Japan (Kyoto).
Age: ~1970s.
Material:
Whetstone.
Type: Finishing.
There are scratches and chipping due to aged deterioration,
please check with the photograph.
The hardness of this grindstone is Lv5+/ 5.
It is extremely stiff, and there is little sharpening juice.
Smooth sharpening, strong abrasive power.
It is cashew protected except the abrasive surface.
We recommend using Mikawa Nagura.
Since this stone was shaped with a hand-ground saw, I estimate it was sold before the 1970s.
There are some scratches on the current sharpening surface, but they do not affect the sharpening performance. Additionally, it is possible to create a new sharpening surface on the reverse side.
