This is the 1970 children's novella Jane and the Mandarin's Secret by Jean Lewis. This is a stated first edition, published as a hardcover by Hawthorn Books in 1970. The cover and interior are illustrated by Howard M. Burns.

There is a personal inscription and signature from the author on the first page.

The dust jacket shows light shelf wear with an edge tear on the reverse, upper edge. There is some sun fading at the spine. The price is clipped inside the front jacket. The pages are lightly tanned. Please check the photos for details.
