Obverse:
The obverse features a richly decorated, ornamental frame, with the denomination written in capital letters in the center: ZEHNTAUSEND KRONEN. On the right side of the composition, an oval frame contains a portrait of a woman with a floral wreath in her hair, while in the center, the double-headed imperial eagle and multilingual inscriptions emphasize the multi-ethnic character of the Monarchy. The overall effect of the banknote is elegant, solemn, and representative. The specimen shown in the image features the German-language side.
Back:
The reverse side features a similarly ornate border; the same female portrait appears again on the right, while the center displays the Hungarian coat of arms and the denomination inscription in Hungarian: TÍZEZER KORONA. Together, the two sides clearly illustrate the dualist state structure: the official German presentation dominates on one side, and the Hungarian presentation on the other.
