Gibson Custom Shop LG-2 3/4 2012 Acoustic Guitar Excellent Condition
Description
A rare 2012 Montana Custom Shop LG-2 3/4 in a blonde natural finish has arrived.
The LG-2 3/4 was produced from 1949 to around 1962. In the 2000s, an Arlo Guthrie signature model was released, and since then, it has been produced sporadically by the Custom Shop.
Although this instrument is 13 years old, it is in good condition, with some scratches from normal use, and is well-maintained, including playability.
It features a compact body shape with a width of approximately 13 inches, a body top made of selected spruce, sides and back made of mahogany, a mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a long slot construction. The nut width is approximately 40mm, and the scale length is approximately 578mm (short scale). It employs simple ladder bracing, which gives it a distinctive midrange tone. The tuning pegs are Kluson-type with three white buttons, and they operate smoothly without any problems.
Due to the natural finish, they are not immediately noticeable, but when held up to the light, there are a few scattered scratches. The top has a slight discoloration, which gives it a nice, aged look. There are minor scratches on the sides and back, and the back of the neck is clean with no major dents.
The guitar is set up for easy playability, with a low string action of 2.1mm for the 6th string and 1.6mm for the 1st string at the 12th fret. There is plenty of fret life left, the saddle has ample adjustment range, and the truss rod has plenty of adjustment range in both directions, so you can use it with peace of mind knowing it will be maintenance-free for the foreseeable future.
Despite its size, it has good response, and when fingerpicked, it has a solid, resonant sound that exceeds its size. The full, resonant midrange is characteristic of ladder bracing, and it has an atmospheric sound that matches genres such as ragtime. The crispness when strumming is also very pleasing.
Its lightweight and easy-to-handle size makes it perfect for enjoying blues or singing along in your living room. It's also ideal for relaxing and playing with a drink in hand.
A rare Custom Shop model. Comes with a custom-sized hard case and is a rare model that rarely appears on the market.
Opportunities to acquire a guitar in such good condition are extremely limited, so highly recommended for those looking for one!
