These pre-built, ready-to-go HO sand loads are cast from high-quality Hydorcal Plaster to which fine sand has been glued.

Each plastic baggie contains 2 sand loads.

While these loads are made to fit Athearn/MDC 40', 3-Bay Hopper cars, these could be trimmed to fit other 100 ton, 3 or 4 bay, hopper cars.  I have done this dozens of times using a variety of methods. Since this is hydrocal plaster which is brittle and breakable, I suggest using an inexpensive 120 grit sanding block to sand them down to size. You may wish to wear a face mask because plaster dust is quite fine. I still have an old stock pile of my Covid 19 masks hanging around for just such work!

Another suggestion: To add strength, I glue a thin strip of cardboard or styrene 3/8" to 1/2" wide down the middle of the back side.

These sand loads are a great (and cheap) way to add realism to your model railroad.
