Do not hand wash, machine wash, or use standard commercial dry-cleaning chemicals, as moisture will tarnish the historic metallic threads and stress the silk fibers. Store flat or loosely rolled face-out with acid-free archival tissue paper in a dry, dark environment protected from high humidity and direct sunlight. To safely flatten, use a cool, dry iron over a thick protective press cloth on the reverse side only.
