Bring a piece of majestic European heritage into your space with this stunning Antique European Fleur-De-Lis Metallic Embroidered Silk Ecclesiastical Panel. Dating from the 19th century, this nearly square devotional textile features a premium, heavy silk ground in a beautifully faded antique rose / dusty pink hue.
The face of the panel is densely hand-embroidered with a repeating grid pattern of classic Fleur-de-lis motifs—the historic symbol of purity, light, and European royalty—rendered in thick, textured metallic gold thread. A dual-line metallic stitched frame partitions the field, creating a decorative outer border that echo the central motifs. The entire piece is neatly finished along all four edges with a wide, woven passementerie braid trim in an olive-bronze tone. Likely originally utilized as an altar cloth element, a sanctuary cushion face, or a decorative clergy drapery, this well-preserved fragment is ideal for museum display, high-end archival framing, or inclusion in a luxury interior design collection.
Origin: Europe (likely France or Italy)
Type: Ecclesiastical Textual Panel / Liturgical Fragment
Material: 100% Fine Silk Base, Metallic Embroidered Threads, Passementerie Braid Border
Motif: Fleur-de-lis Grid System with Border Frame
Primary Colors: Antique Rose Pink, Tarnished Gold, Olive Bronze Trim
Condition: Very good antique condition. The silk ground shows natural age-related surface wrinkling and micro-creasing, but remains strong and completely intact. The dense metallic hand-stitching is excellently secured, showing a wonderful, authentic dark-gold patina. A single small, localized water-toning spot or age smudge is present near the top edge. The outer trim is securely stitched on all sides. Please inspect the provided photos to closely view these historic characteristics.

Archival Preservation Recommended. This rare, antique silk-and-metal embroidery must be handled with care. Do not hand wash, machine wash, or use standard commercial dry-cleaning chemicals, as moisture will tarnish the historic metallic threads and stress the silk fibers. Specialized professional textile conservation methods are strictly advised. Store flat or loosely rolled face-out with acid-free archival tissue paper in a dry, dark environment protected from high humidity and direct sunlight. To safely flatten, use a cool, dry iron over a thick protective press cloth on the reverse side only.
