Description:

Offered here is an exceptional example of a classic Louis Vuitton Monogram Garment Bag. Based on the absence of a date code and the presence of authentic Ailee hardware, this is a "True Vintage" piece manufactured in the late 1970s, circa 1979.

Condition Report:

Canvas: Strong and vibrant. There is a small area of minor white surface scuffing/staining on the upper left edge (see photos). It is topical and not deep wear. Of course there is minor leather wear and a few tiny discoloration marks, given that it is 47 years old, but really impressive condition overall. I tried to show a couple photos where leather is a little worn but the stitching is tight and nice everywhere.

Interior: Exceptionally clean and well-preserved. Zero mold, mildew, or vintage odors.

Leather: The Vachetta leather trim and handles have aged to a beautiful, honey-colored patina. The leather remains supple with no cracking or dry rot.

Hardware: All zippers (Eclair) and buckles are fully functional.
