You will need to supply your own rail (Channel Strut 41mm x 41mm x 2.5mm). You may also need a set of Stopper and End Caps. See below for details.

Each hook slides along the rail on smooth running bearings and rotate in both directions (left and right). Hooks are manufactured with pre-defined stops to avoid hooks autonomously rotating under the weight of the load. See video to see the hooks in operation.

These storage hooks are compatible with standard 41mm x 41mm x 2.5mm Channel Strut widely available in lengths up to 6 metres. To save on expensive courier charges for oversized items it is recommended that you purchase your Channel Strut locally. This is a commonly used construction product used extensively in the electrical and plumbing trades. Google 'Channel Strut' and you will find lots of local and national suppliers. If you shop around you will find 3 metre lengths for as little as £10 - £20. If you need Channel Strut delivered some suppliers offer nationwide delivery. You will also require fixings for your Channel Strut. Heavy duty, low profile screws and washers suitable for your installation structure.

Installation is quick and simple to complete with a few basic DIY tools. Ensure the structure you are attaching to is strong enough to hold the weight of your rack and contents.

Stopper and End Cap

The Stopper and End Cap set contains 2 stoppers and 2 end caps. The stoppers are required to stop the hooks rolling out of your Channel Strut Rail and the end caps give a professional finish.

Why don’t we supply channel strut?

The cost of shipping channel strut exceeds the cost of the product so it makes no sense for you or us to supply this component. Channel Strut is widely used and is available throughout all countries. A quick Google search will reveal lots of suppliers. Shop around for a good price and/or a local supplier. If you need delivery you will find some suppliers that offer a delivery service.

How far away from the wall should you install your Channel Strut?

As a guide, little over the radius of the biggest wheel you intend to store is a good starting point.

Do hooks rotate?

Yes, this listing is for rotating, sliding hooks. 3 types are available to satisfy your particular installation. Hooks rotate in both directions, clockwise and anticlockwise.

Type A - 2 position, Stops at 0° and 180°

Type B - 4 position, Stops every 90°

Type C - 8 position, Stops every 45°

How much room does each bike take up?

As bicycles can be overlapped the space required for storage can be minimised dramatically. Obviously it depends on the size of the bikes you intend to store. When selecting the size of your rail allow extra so bikes can be rolled away from each other for easy access.
