Fine 1850's Edo Period Japanese Imari Bowl. Delightfully decorated with great skill and artistry featuring sparrows, lotus flower, a laughing crab, scholarly objects and coin. Unusual molding of the rim using the refined porcelain seen in this bowl. A generous amount of green and gold make the bowl "pop" and really grab your attention. Nice size for display measuring 9.5" in diameter and 3.75" in height. Very nice condition, free of damage with light wear to the gold. Amazingly 175 years old.
Fun to look at, great quality. It is a BEAUTY!
