A very nice Tiffany & Co Wine Funnel.  Engravings near the top indicate Silver-Soldered: This term indicates that the piece is silver-plated rather than solid sterling silver. It was a method Tiffany used specifically for hotel, restaurant, or institutional ware because it was much more durable and could withstand the rigors of frequent commercial use. Design Number: 10256;  This is the pattern number, which indicates the specific design drawing on file at Tiffany. Based on Tiffany's records, pattern numbers around 10,000 were introduced around 1890, giving us a baseline for when this design was first created. The Letter "Q": is a date letter confirming the piece itself was manufactured between 1907 and 1947. The monogram appears to be an elaborate "MC" in an interlocking script.  In the context of "silver soldered" Tiffany pieces, monograms often represented the name of the institution rather than an individual. For example, it could stand for "Metropolitan Club" or a specific hotel name. The piece measures 15cms H x 7cms W and weighs 115 grams.
