Dobro Model 33 D with hard case 1975 Acoustic Guitar Resonator
Description
This 1975 model features a sandblasted ivy pattern and a distinctive "D" logo on the back of the body.
While many models feature yacht or palm tree motifs, this "D" model is particularly popular.
Manufactured by the Dopera family, the founding family of Dobro, before Gibson acquired the company.
USA-made Dobros from this era are characterized by their slender F-holes and the traditional Dobro resonator sound.
While there are some scratches and weather cracks in the paint commensurate with its age, it is in excellent playing condition with no issues as an instrument.
The neck is in very good condition with no noticeable warping. The truss rod has plenty of adjustment range in both directions, and the frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The only replaced parts are the nut and bridge saddle.
The string height is set at approximately 2.1mm at the 12th fret of the 1st string and approximately 2.7mm at the 12th fret of the 6th string, making it easy to play.
Currently set up with light gauge strings, medium gauge strings would also be suitable for those who primarily play slide guitar. The metal body and biscuit cone deliver a solid resonator sound with a rich sustain, creating a distinctive Dobro sound that evokes vivid imagery.
