Dobro DWF-60 2.81kg with hard case 1994 Acoustic Guitar Resonator
Description
Manufactured in 1994.
A wood-bodied Dobro from the "OMI" era, before Gibson acquired the company, Made in USA.
Round neck, 12-fret joint, spider bridge. Nut width is approximately 45mm, with a thick, solid neck grip. An output jack was added to the side of the body by the previous owner. Currently, no pickups are installed. A small hole, likely for pickup cable routing, is drilled in the aluminum cone.
There are no other significant repair records.
Exteriorly, there is overall weather checking of the paint, several areas of paint chipping, and age-appropriate scratches and wear.
Currently, the neck is almost straight, and the string height at the 12th fret is approximately 3.0mm for the 6th string and 2.6mm for the 1st string, making it playable for both normal playing and slide playing. The bridge still has some room for adjustment, so you can lower the string height to your preference. The truss rod has been tested and is working in both directions.
Strings used: 012-053. Resonator guitars have many resonance points and are prone to buzzing. This is often caused by loose screws on the cover plate or resonance between the spider bridge feet and the aluminum cone.
If you notice buzzing, try tightening or loosening the slotted screw in the center of the bridge saddle, or pressing on the spider bridge feet to find the buzzing point. (Be careful not to overtighten the cover plate screws.)
