Description: Four original photographs of an F9F-6P Cougar photo recon jet with tail number 955 that crash landed on the Aircraft Carrier CVA-39 Lake Champlain on 1 August, 1955.  It looks like the pilot (Lt. F. C. Marshall) missed with his tail hook and ran into the barrier/barricade netting.  You can see in one photo the front landing gear going flying out in front of the plane.  The two 8x10 prints, which are each different photos, are stamped on the back with official markings and the two 5x7s are not stamped but appear to show the plane prior to it hitting the netting.  These photos were found at an estate sale and I will be listing more photos from the CVA-39 Lake Champlain in the near future as well as photos of the CVA-20 Bennington so please watch my store for these other photos.

Please review all of the included pictures as they are considered part of the description.  We strive to describe items as accurately as possible and provide lots of pictures so you know exactly what you are getting. Please visit our store as we will gladly combine items to save on shipping.

Condition: These photos are in very good condition with just a little edge wear.  The rubber stamp that was used on the back of the 8x10s was not pressed evenly so it is a bit smudged but legible if you use both pics to decipher the information.

Please keep in mind that, unless otherwise noted, all of our vintage items have had a previous life. All items currently come from a smoke free home but we do have fur babies.

Measurements: Two photos measure approximately 8x10 inches and the other two measure approximately 5x7 inches.
