This item is softcover, measures 5" x 8" with 12 pages and black and white illustrations.
This antique piece the Press Drill, which is a piece of agriculture equipment that opened the ground for the reception of seeds, with a shear, which was followed by a wheel that pressed the earth onto the seed. There were gauges on the ends of the seed box that could be raised or lowered.
The book pictures and describes and equipment and contains testimonials. There are also remedies for horse ailments (as a "filler" for the catalog. At the back there is a list of different pieces that the equipment contained, and a price list in case a repair was needed.
Blunt is described as a general agent, so it is unlikely he was the actual manufacturer, and whose identity remains elusive. However, research shows that Blunt received a patent for this equipment, so in that respect this is his invention. It was marketed in many newspapers in the midwest and plain state in the 1880's.
This item in acceptable condition. It has a few exterior stains. Three leaves and the back cover has a corner missing (see photos). This does not affect any of the content, except for perhaps page numbers. Please see accompanying photos for more information.
