SALVANO'S STAGE MAGIC WITH ROPES    by Salvano  (who else?)

Way back in the early 1980's, Stevens Magic Emporium started putting out VHS tapes showcasing the best magicians of the era.  It was called the GREATER MAGIC VIDEO LIBRARY or "GMVL".      In 2005, Twin Cities bought the rights and re-issued many of the GMVL videos on DVD.   

So here is some footage from the 1980's that you can watch on the convenient DVD format.   

The GMVL let U.S.-based magicians (like me) learn about many of Europe's top performers.  And Salvano was one of them at the time.  His style is classic, doing a silent manipulation act, and what would be termed a "dove" act except that Salvano produces glasses of wine instead of doves.   The opening of this DVD shows Salvano doing his act, and you will be amazed and impressed at how smooth his magic is, and how well-thought out every moment of misdirection and magic is choreographed.   (None of this routine is taught -- it is performance only.  But it still can provide a wealth of education to magicians who want to see how attention to detail improves magic!)

The DVD then has Salvano talking about his start in magic, with some interesting magic philosophy and advice. Then we get Salvano demo-ing and teaching one short manipulative effect and one long rope routine.  

The manipulative effect is a very deceptive production and vanish of a fan of cards -- it will fool you, and you may be inspired to add this magical quickie to your stand-up work, even if you are not a manipulator.

The main focus of the DVD is Salvano's rope routine -- it is a 4 or 5 phase Cut and Restored routine which (like his manipulative act) is very well thought out, and includes finesse that will benefit anyone's rope magic, whether you are new to ropes or have years of experience.

I recommend this DVD to anyone interested in recent magic history (from the 1980s) or doing very strong rope effects.

Retail on this DVD is $35, -- but I see it still selling and found it available for $25.   But, of course, I will sell it for less!   (What a guy!)  

CONDITION:   this is from new-old stock, found in a large lot that was purchased from ex-dealer inventory.  It is still sealed in shrink wrap -- (the open one in the photo is from my own DVD library).   

This is a genuine Stevens/Twin City DVD -- no bootlegs sold here... EVER!
