Colorful handcrafted Mexican folk art figurine (known as an “Alebrije”) originating from Oaxaca.  These figures are typically carved from copal wood and intricately painted with vibrant colors and patterns.  (Alebrijes often depict fantastical creatures or stylized animals, sometimes acting as spirit guides known as tonas.)  This small piece features a bright yellow and red spotted body with contrasting blue ears and tail. Great colors and lots of detail!
