Peruvian Folk Art Dolls Lot — 3 Pieces
Handmade Artisan, Andean Cultural Theme
Vintage, Before 2006
A charming collection of three vintage handmade Peruvian folk art dolls, each intricately crafted using yarn, string, and fabric over wire armatures. These dolls serve as vibrant representations of traditional Andean culture, featuring detailed festive attire and accessories including traditional musical instruments and a companion llama. Authentic folk art pieces like these are popular for cultural displays and international doll collections.
• Hand-wrapped yarn and string construction on wooden display bases
• Features traditional attire including woven ponchos, embroidered skirts, and chullo hats
• Accessories include a flute (quena), panpipes (sicus), and a white llama companion
• Bases approximately 2.5 to 3 inches wide; dolls stand approximately 8 inches tall
Condition: Overall good vintage condition with vibrant colors. Visible paint wear and surface loss present on the top of the heads on two of the figures (male flute player and female spinner). Yarn and fabric show light surface dust accumulation consistent with age but remain structurally sound. Wooden bases are stable; one base retains the original "Made in Peru" adhesive sticker.
