This is an original 19th-century Illustrated Bible Dictionary and Cities of the Bible- both new and Old Testament, published by John E. Potter and Company Philadelphia, likely dating from the 1870s–1880s. I was unable to locate a date, however it was given as a gift in 1881 (see picture).

This large, elaborately bound Bible features a deeply embossed and gold-gilded leather cover with ornate corner and center designs, as well as gilt-edged pages and vivid color lithograph title pages inside. There was some water damage- evident on the inside of cover, bottom/edge of some pages- see video.

Binding in pretty good shape. Pages are all intact with no rips/bent/or significantly torn pages. Pages have been carefully inspected and there are only minor tears to just a handful of Bible pages from turning. **The birth page with handwritten birth dates is torn- see picture.***

Bible is complete and still has its original bookmark & protective tissue covers over pictures.

This is from an estate sale- selling as found. This includes 2 flowers & flower stem found in between pages 455 Old Testament & 657 New Testament. This beautiful Bible also has antique family photos in the back. Did not attempt to remove from pages, so it is unknown if they are marked with names/years on the backside.
