Exterior
The new body for 2000 was especially accentuated when colored in Millenium Yellow as our example is, here nicely augmented with black spoked wheels, 19-inch in front and 20-inch in back, nicely presented with silver rims and the yellow brake calipers showing through. The staggered ZR rated tires enjoy a later 2022 date code. In back, Euro style tail lights feature a yellow turn signal in a red oval while quad chrome tips hint at what's underneath. Swing around to the front and we find race inspired mesh over the intakes and a broad hood kept smooth by hidden headlights. In profile, body molding streaks down the center from the fender vent and the targa top is showing with the solid yellow option. Imperfections include some lower scrapes, touched up scratches, and typical chin scrapes.
Interior
Tan and black make up the interior palette starting on the door panels made of smooth, durable plastic and both doors present cleanly. Sporty tan leather bucket seats occupy the cockpit and are also in nice shape with the typical patina creasing on the driver's side, while both flank as center console with a two tone armrest, a two tone e-brake handle and boot, and a two tone shifter, boot and base. The theme continues on the steering wheel where side grips are black and 12 and 6 sides are tan. White faced gauges live in the instrument cove while a multi function center screen shows the functions of the AM/FM/CD player with XM capability above the A/C switchgear. Plush tan carpet covers the footwells and the rear cargo area where the optional glass targa resides.
Drivetrain
Pivot the hood forward and you'll see yellow valve covers that match the exterior and sprucing up the 5.7 liter LS1 V8 good for 345 horsepower. It's mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the rear axle with 3.15 gears and Positraction. The bay presents in very clean condition.
Undercarriage
Clean and dry conditions prevail underneath where the dual exhaust features a Corsa cat back system, including the mufflers, and the epic center exit with quad tips. Naturally, power disc brakes are at all four corners and suspension consists of independent unequal length double wishbones with transverse fiberglass monoleaf springs.
Drive-Ability
Performing as you'd expect a sub-50,000 mile Vette to perform, there are no surprises on our short jaunt around the test loop where the car accelerates with authority, handles like a king, and stops on a dime. All functional items on board get a green light and it's time to find a spot under the lights for this yellow performer. A bright exterior, a unique interior, and newish tires make this one a worthy candidate to be on your Corvette search list.
